The
August bank holiday is the last one before the Christmas break, so there’s a
pressure to make the most of it. I love long weekends, they always feel so
indulgent. Here are a few of the ways I may be spending that extra free day
this month.
At
the pub – obviously. It wouldn’t be a British summer holiday without a spike in
sales of beer, and although I’m not a big drinker I do like a lazy afternoon with a
white wine spritzer, sun cream and a beer garden complete with sticky tables
and bar snacks.

Trudging
and queuing and waiting for a big special event! This photo was taken last
summer at the homecoming of Gold Medallist Joe Clarke after his Olympic success
at Rio. The atmosphere was amazing and it was a great day, I do love a street
party.
Walking
the dog. There are few things more relaxing than an early evening stroll as the
sun sets in a hazy August twilight. There’s always something new to see, such a
great way to relax and do a bit of exercise.
Yeah, for real, this is actually a dog |
